Global Markets Update: Monday, September 19, 2011

After last week's market actions, here are a few of the trends that we've taken note of:
  • Every major world region is down so far this year.  Yet, by far and away, the US has held up better than any other region, while most others are down in the mid-teens for the year.
  • Germany bounced back strong last week, up 7.7%.  It still remains the second worst of the G7 Countries for the year, ahead of Italy.
  • Serbia is the top performing country over the last one year, up 28.2%.
  • In order, Utilities, Consumer Staples, Healthcare and Consumer Discretion are now all up for the year.  Financials are by far the worst off, down 19% year-to-date.
