Following a week that it was down 2.7%, the World finished last week up 2.9%, which brings it back to around breakeven for the year.  Here are some of the other highlights from around the globe last week:
  • While the US and Developed Europe performed very well last week, up 3.7% and 3.8%, respectively, Emerging Europe finished the week down 4.5%.
  • India was up big last week (5%), erasing its year-to-date losses and leaving it up 4.2% for 2012.
  • Egypt currently leads the countries we track, up 27.3% for the year; however, Vietnam isn't too far behind, up 26.3% in 2012.
  • As for US sectors (seen in the chart below), Technology jumped ahead of Consumer Discretion last week in year-to-dtae performance after being up 4.3%.  The strong performance across the sectors last week leaves only one negative sector for the year at this time - Energy (down 6.9%).
