Global Markets Update: Monday, September 17, 2012

Last week, it was the Emerging Markets' turn to play catch-up, as they led all markets for the week, up 4.7%, even as Emerging Europe was down 4.5%.

Yet, this was part of an overall trend last week as it wasn't the top performers that led last week, but it was those countries that have lagged significantly this year that performed the best last week.  In fact, Germany was up 5.5% and Italy was up 6%.

Here in the US, Small Value is now leading the style boxes for the year, up 17.6% with Large Value lagging the pack, up 16% for the year.  All US sectors remain in positive territory for the year, with Financials now leading the group, up 24.9%, and Technology close behind, up 23.7% this year.
